Silly fun at the theatre

Just have time for a quick note as it is late and I have a very busy day tomorrow. In fact, I might not have time for postings for a couple of days as we start classes and have a couple of other meetings as well. Pretty much all I did today was have meetings with students and staff regarding getting the semester started.

But, tonight we got to go to a show—namely We Will Rock You at, as you can see, the Dominion—and was it ever fun! I wasn't expecting much, since the only information I had about it wasn't too encouraging. Low expectations is probably the best way to go into something like this, though, because it was quite silly. However, the talent was first rate, as were the sets and costumes and of course the music was terribly infectious. Suffice it to say that Bohemian Rhapsody will be playing in my head for the next few days at least.

I did have a bit of quieter excitement earlier in the day when, on a ramble on Gloucester Road after lunch, I found a Victoria postbox! At least, if I understand what I've read (I haven't actually read this wikipedia article, but, rather something a bit shorter, in a book) the VR means it was installed when she was queen (which doesn't narrow the time down too much, I know, but it makes it OLD).

As you can see I'm a very easy-to-please Yank when it comes to London sights!

How fun that you got to see WWRY! It's on our list, but we love Queen. Glad to know it's a fun one :-)
